Tours of the Hall
Witness the sheer beauty of Thrumpton Hall with a personalised tour hosted by owner Miranda Seymour.
These celebrated tours of the house are led by the owner, the biographer and critic Miranda Seymour, whose works include a prizewinning memoir of her family's life at Thrumpton.
Miranda's house tour will offer you a peep at the famous secret staircase and priest's hole before you see the superb collection of Byron relics (Lord Byron was Miranda Seymour's great-uncle; the Byrons lived at Thrumpton from 1840-1950). You will visit the state bedroom, decorated with Jacobean hangings, walk up the most spectacular Cromwellian carved staircase in the country and be shown the glorious double-cube saloon, hung with magnificent portraits. You will also see some of the gorgeous rooms we use for our weddings and corporate events: these include a wonderful library leading out to the rose garden and beyond. You are free to wander and relax in a beautiful landscaped garden looking out across the private park, after the unforgettable and fascinatingly personal tour.
Photography is permitted.
Tours are for a minimum of 20 people and run on various dates. Perfect for groups.
Costs: £13.50 per person or £15 per person including tea, coffee and biscuits.
Tours last around one hour.

We are also a member of the Historic Houses Association and offer free access to the gardens for HHA member's every Wednesday.
